Summer Salad

Fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables are starting to appear in the stores and farmers markets. Summer is almost here! A few weeks ago we shared some homemade salad dressing recipes. This week we’re going add some fun crunch to those salads with a recipe for homemade croutons.

For me, it’s not only a great way to literally spice up a Summer salad but it’s also a great use for any leftover bread that may otherwise go to waste. Toss cubed bread on a rimmed baking sheet with oil, salt, pepper and any other spices you love. Bake at 350 degrees, tossing several times, until golden brown.
